Phat & Co fashion, art and wellness gift shop located on Picton street in Montpelier, Bristols bohemian quarter and is home to a carefully curated selection of over 70 independent creative makers, designers and artists run by English-Colombian couple Kate & Sebastián.
The duo took on the lease at the premises last August 2020 as a direct response to the changing circumstances that were presented due to Covid-19. They would usually trade for much of the year at festivals and markets with their cruelty- free feather jewellery and accessories business, Phat Feathers. The shop space provided them with the necessary outlet for their products during these uncertain times. They've since endured two lockdowns but have grown in strength and popularity by working with other artists supporting and promoting one another.
Currently, the shop collective is made up of over 70 different artists offering something for the whole family and the range of items is ever expanding as more people get involved with the outlet. Artists have been selected for the shop at Phat & Co based on their ethical and green practices with a strong focus on wildlife and the natural world. Many of the items available are organic, cruelty-free and handmade in small batches. The shop front was painted by local artist Farrah Fortnam depicting a abstract jungly scene and the leafy wooden signage was handmade by Hannah Morris-Coole @omna studios
Parking is pay and display with the first 30mins free or alternatively, Montpelier train station is just a few minutes walk away.
